ET Jira Software

Request Access

ET Jira Software is owned by the Enterprise Technologies (ET) department and the Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) division. To request access, please email the following distribution list:

iteis@mso.umt.edu

Before your ET Jira Software account is provisioned, you will need to work through training/introduction to ET Jira Software with the EIS manager.

ET Jira Software login can be found here:

 https://www.umt.edu/jira

The above UM address redirects here, which is the home address of our Jira Software system:

https://umontana.atlassian.net/

At first login you will be redirected to the Atlassian login page.

Starting Home Page

Upon first logging into ET Jira Software, the default will take you to the "Your Work" page. You may consider making some/all of the following changes:

Email Integration

Email Address

Notifications from Jiras should originate from the following email address:

jira@umontana.atlassian.net

We recommend adding this address to your Outlook safe-sender list so they are never filtered to your junk email folder. Please see the following Microsoft Support article for more information.

Email Notifications

You can control email notifications for your account. Go to the Personal Settings > Project and Issue Notifications page, or naviate there by opening the settings icon (gear icon in the upper-right), and selecting "Personal Jira Settings".

On the "Personal Settings" / "General" page, in the left menu open the "Projects and Issues" page.

Under the "Group notification emails together" section, you can use the drop-down menu to change how often emails are sent to you via grouping emails. The default setting is for "Every 3 minutes". UM IT ET / EIS recommends chaning this to "Every 30 minutes" or "Every 60 minutes" to reduce the total number of emails sent to you when you receive alot of emails from ET Jira Software or when you have alot of active issues.

Email Replies

The reply-to-Jira ticket integration now works! When you reply to a Jira issue, it should place your email as a comment on the Jira issue ticket.

Other Integrations

Other integrations are available including:

  • Mobile App for iOS and Android
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • AI Assistant

Additional information will be released as we evaluate and prepare to support these extensions.
