Windows 10 Education for Students

OnTheHub provides students and faculty of select schools or departments discounted or free software. The University of Montana has a WebStore that is part of the OnTheHub Network, through which students can obtain one free license for Windows 10 Education.

You must locate the UM WebStore through the school search on OnTheHub

  1. Fill in "United States" as the country
  2. Fill in "Montana" as the State/Province
  3. Type "University of Montana" in the school search box and click on "University of Montana" in the list of results.
Only the main University of Montana campus has a webstore currently, not University of Montana Helena or any of the other campuses.
  4. Once you have selected the school name, a Department box will appear with a drop-down list of options. Select "University of Montana" once again.
If your academic department has their own WebStore, you may see it in the list of results. You have access to both the general University of Montana WebStore as well as your department's WebStore, which may have different software available.
  5. Click the blue button at the bottom, which should now say "Log in to your University of Montana WebStore to view all available offerings."
  6. When you follow the link to the University of Montana WebStore, it should redirect you to the NetID Services Login page - log in here using your NetID and password.
  7. Once logged in, you should see "Windows 10" as a product. Click on this to open the Microsoft Windows 10 Education Download page.

  8. If you are an eligible student, the cost will show as "Free". Click "Add to Cart" and follow their directions to check out.
  9. Save the license key they give you and use it to install the operating system on your computer!
