Change to Distance-Only Program

You must be enrolled in a program of study that offers degrees fully online, online with limited on-site learning, or remote. If you’re uncertain, please check the online programs section of the catalog. If you are not currently enrolled in one of these majors before submitting this form, your request will be denied. Major changes need to be requested by advisors/program directors. New students must make this change through Admissions.

Carefully read through the restrictions below prior to submitting this form.

Distance-only students are NOT eligible for:

  • Certain scholarships, including WUE (Contact the Financial Aid Office for more information)
  • Student housing (e.g. residence halls, University Villages)

Distance-only students are not charged the mandatory campus service fees, but may opt into these fees through their GrizPortal:

  • Curry Health Center services
  • Campus Recreation
  • ASUM services (e.g. low-cost legal services, childcare, etc.)
  • Athletic fee
  • Student health insurance (contact Curry Health Center)

Online-only students are prohibited from enrolling in any course that requires a face-to-face component.

Registration is limited to course sections that are programmed with an attendance method of online, synchronous remote, and limited on-site delivery.

Students who receive the WUE scholarship may not change their status to distance-only due to the WUE scholarship conditions.
