Getting the most out of Claude
Claude offers several models, and they don't all cost the same to run. The Fable models in particular use up your allowance much faster than the others. Long documents and long conversations on Fable add up especially quickly.
A quick guide to choosing a model:
- Haiku: fast and light. Good for quick questions, short rewrites and simple lookups.
- Sonnet: the everyday workhorse. Good for drafting, editing, summarizing and most research questions.
- Opus: for harder work, like long documents, detailed analysis, multi-step problems and coding.
- Fable: the premium option. Best saved for work where you've found the other models fall short
