Issue: Unable to Advance Past the “Cyber Incident Examples” Slide
Some users report getting stuck on the Cyber Incident Examples slide in the NeoEd Learn course Cybersecurity: Data Privacy and Safe Computing. The course may appear frozen or prevent you from selecting more than one option (Loss, Theft, or Cybercrime), making it seem like you cannot move forward.
This is a known user interface behavior in NeoEd Learn. The University of Montana has shared feedback about this with the vendor.
How to Proceed (Required Step)
On the Cyber Incident Examples slide, each option opens a small pop-up window.
Before you can select another option or move to the next slide, you must close the pop-up window.
What to do:
-
Click one of the topic options (e.g., Loss).
-
Read the information in the pop-up window.
-
When complete, click the small red “X” in the upper-right corner of the pop-up window to close it.
-
Repeat this process for the remaining options (Theft and Cybercrime).
-
Once each pop-up has been opened and closed, the course will allow you to continue.
Screenshot Example
(Screenshot shows the Cyber Incident Examples slide with a pop-up window open. An arrow highlights the small red “X” in the upper-right corner of the pop-up window that must be clicked to continue.)

If You Still Can’t Continue
If closing the pop-up windows does not resolve the issue:
-
Try refreshing the page and re-entering the course.
-
Ensure pop-ups are allowed in your browser.
