How to do I setup and use UM's Virutal Labs?

Description

  1. Install Citrix Workspace (https://www.citrix.com/downloads/workspace-app/)
  2. Open up your browser, and go to https://labs.umt.edu.Google Chrome works best.There have been a few problems with Microsoft Edge, but I was able to get it to work.
  3. Log in using your NetID and password.
  4. If it’s asking for Citrix Receiver, you can just click on Detect Receiver


    You can also use the drop down next to your name and select Change Citrix Receiver and then select the link for Use full version
  5. Once logged in, click on the Desktops tab, and click on Lab
  6. Press the Open button to open the Virtual Lab image
  7. Select Permit use from the pop-up window to let the virtual machine use resources on your computer. This will allow you to save to your local machine.
  8. Make sure you save all of your work to UM-Box, OneDrive, or to your local computer.When the virtual machine closes down, all files stored on the virtual machine will be lost.PLEASE READ THIS SECTION IT IS VERY IMPORTANT.
  9. Run Microsoft Office or any of the other applications on the Virtual Labs.
  10. When you are ready to stop, press Account button from the Start Menu, and then select Sign out. Alternatively, you can right click on the Start button, select Shut down or sign out and then Sign out
