Request a Duo hardware token for use with multi-factor authentication (MFA).
Duo hardware tokens generate secure one-time passcodes for accessing protected University of Montana systems, including Microsoft 365. Tokens are available as a supported alternative authentication method.
Hardware tokens are university property and must be returned when no longer in use.
Eligibility
Manager approval is not required.

UM IT will review the request and coordinate pickup or shipping.
Charge

Initial hardware token: No charge

First lost token replacement: No charge

Subsequent lost token replacements: $30

Shipping (if applicable): Shipping and handling fee applies
Billing, when required, will be coordinated by the UM IT Helpdesk.
Availability
Requests are reviewed Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (excluding university holidays).
Processing time may vary based on inventory and shipping coordination.
