Request Access to Course Content

In Canvas, you can access all current and past courses in your Courses list, accessible from the Global Navigation Menu. Submit this request if you need access to a course that you are not the Instructor on Record of, or a course that you taught in Moodle.

If you are not the Instructor of Record in Banner for the course you are requesting access to, you will be asked to share written permission from the Instructor of Record. With permission, you can be enrolled in the course as a non-editing teacher, allowing you to import content into your own Teaching Shell in which you’ll have full editing access. Without permission, you can be enrolled in the course as a guest which allows you to view content but not import content, with the understanding that you can come up with ideas on how to design your course but are not permitted to use any content other than the course learning outcomes and syllabus.

Course sharing processes are based on Montana Board of Regents Policy and the CBA which transfer ownership of course content (copyrightable materials) to the Instructor of Record.

If your course was developed as part of the Online Course Development Stipend Program through Educational Initiatives and Innovation, intellectual property is shared for three years between the creating instructor and the department. Please note in your request if the content you are requesting was developed under this program.
