University of Montana through an enterprise licensing agreement with IBM, provides access to SPSS statistical software for UM and UM Western students.
SPSS is a comprehensive software package that includes data management, statistics, and reporting capabilities. The UM enterprise agreement includes: SPSS Statistics Base, SPSS Advanced Statistics, and SPSS Regressions.
Please note that there are issues with Mac Mojave and SPSS version 25 installations. One problem allows them to install but won’t run and brings up error code #7001. The other problem tells them they do not have administrative privileges so it will not run the license activation wizard. There is a fix for the second problem. IT is working on the resolution for the first issue. It appears to be quite complicated.
SPSS expiration notices: If you already have SPSS installed on your computer and you are receiving a license expiration notice, please complete the service request and in the comments section, indicate that you only need a new activation code. Specify the version under SPSS Version.
Eligibility
To qualify for the benefit, UM and UM Western students must be enrolled in a course that requires SPSS as a software solution for their studies, or they must be performing academic research.
